Masetepe

In this blog I talk about going to Masetepe and what we did there. We were going to Masatepe to look for furniture for the house.

In the morning, Veronica (Dad and Bridget's Spanish teacher) came and picked us up to go to Masetepe. So we locked up the house and headed off. But we found out that on the way we were going to drop off another teacher and one of her students to a farm where there was another Spanish school. The student's name was Alan and he was from England. On the way, I talked to him about London and the countries I have been to in my travels.

San Juan Del Sur

After spending a few days in Ometepe we went to San Juan del Sur which is a very nice beach town in the south west of Nicaragua.

Blog: Ometepe

This entry is about Ometepe a very nice island in the middle of the lake of Nicaragua. It’s also about our friend Leah visiting us from Australia.

On the day that Leah was supposed to arrive from Australia I was very excited. But, when I got home from school and Dad and Bridget said that she hadn't arrived yet because her plane was delayed. I came in through the door and, when I got in, Leah jumped out from behind the door and scared me to bits!

Blog: My first impressions of Nicaragua

In this blog entry I will describe my first impressions of Nicaragua in general and Granada and our house in particular.

Blog: The tour of the isletas (islands) of Granada

Shortly after arriving in Nicaragua, we went for a tour of the isletas or islands in the lake. There are more than 350 islands in the lake and they were formed by a volcanic eruption from Volcan Mombacho. The plan was for Dad, Nana, Bridget and me to take a boat tour around the islands and stop for lunch at an island with a restaurant on it.

Before we could take a tour, we had to get from our house to the dock where the boat tours leave from. We tried to get a taxi, but at first we had trouble getting one.

Blog: Going through Heathrow and Miami

In my last blog, I had left Nigeria and was going through Heathrow and Miami and ending up in Nicaragua. When we were out of Nigeria we felt very sad because I would not see my poppa for a long time.

On the way to Heathrow I watched a movie it was good until half way through when I fell asleep and missed the rest of it. It wasn't that great of a plane ride at all.

When we got to Heathrow it was snowing but we couldn't see it that well because it was melting from the heat of the engine in the plane.

Blog: The "Día del Patria"

The Día del Patria is the national day of independence for Nicaragua. It is on the 14th of September. To celebrate the day, my school did dancing performances for the mums and dads. The performance was two days before the actual day of independence.

We had to do lots of preparing: making the costumes and practicing the dancing.

Blog: Leaving Nigeria

If you have been reading along with my series of blog entries, you will know that I had been in Nigeria visiting my Poppa, which is where he lives and works at the moment. I had spent a week there in Nigeria with my Nana as part of my around the world trip. But my time in Nigeria had come to an end. It was time for us to leave, our last day in Nigeria. We (Nana and I) were about to head to Managua, Nicaragua, via London and Miami. But before we left we still had some things to do.

The day before we had gone to the office and said goodbye to everybody there.

Blog: Description Of Poppa's Apartment

So, as explained in my other blog entries, my nana and I were in Nigeria in March because we went to see my poppa who works there. While we were in Nigeria we stayed at Poppa's apartment so we could get to see him lots. The apartment was in the city about half an hour away from the river.

Blog: Going to the pizza place

When we were in Nigeria we went to a pizza place. We only went to the place once. I really liked this pizza place; it had upstairs downstairs and good pizza and really comfortable chairs. I cant remember what the pizza place was called (sorry).

We went by car to the restaurant. Jerome drove, of course. He drove us everywhere. At the front it was green and white like Christmas colours except without red. Nana, Pop and I all got out of the car and went inside.

When we got in, a waiter seated us. The waiter was a tall man with curly hair and black rimed glasses.
