Kaleb’s Travels

Shortly after arriving in Nicaragua, we went for a tour of the isletas or islands in the lake. There are more than 350 islands in the lake and they were formed by a volcanic eruption from Volcan Mombacho. The plan was for Dad, Nana, Bridget and me to take a boat tour around the islands and stop for lunch at an island with a restaurant on it.

Before we could take a tour, we had to get from our house to the dock where the boat tours leave from. We tried to get a taxi, but at first we had trouble getting one.

This is a picture of a throwing star I made using origami. I made it look blacker using the GIMP.

One day there was a peach,

Today, I saw a rainbow in the sky. For some reason it made me think of my favorite things: musical instruments! so I thought about what I could do with the instruments and rainbows. I thought that the instruments could be a guitar and a drum set. So I got my coloured pencils out and got started. Here it is.

One day there was a fair
in the fair there was a bear.

When I was looking through my computer the other day, I found some pictures of motor bikes and monster trucks that I had been keeping because I really like them. I like monster trucks and motor bikes because they are both fast and cool (and dangerous too - thats why I only like the pictures of them) so I decided to make a picture of a truck and some motor bikes on a stormy night on the GIMP. But I wasn't sure what to do with them.

I wanted to do some art but couldn't think of what to paint. So I thought that I would just draw some lines. When I was done it looked quite funny but it looks good here on my website.

One night I woke up in the middle of the night and it was raining, I could hear the rain hitting at the kitchen roof really hard. I tried to go back to sleep but it was too loud. I got up and shut my door but it was no use it was still too loud so I went outside and tried to get over to the grass without getting too wet, to see how far away the storm was.

I thought about my name and said to myself what is a different way to display my name my name ... thats where the GIMP comes in. So I got to the GIMP and got started... I remembered a picture of the Metallica band's name and thought of the letters. The letters looked really cool so I wanted to use it in my name picture. I found out that some of the letters from my name were in the Metallica name, those were A, L and E.

In my last blog, I had left Nigeria and was going through Heathrow and Miami and ending up in Nicaragua. When we were out of Nigeria we felt very sad because I would not see my poppa for a long time.

On the way to Heathrow I watched a movie it was good until half way through when I fell asleep and missed the rest of it. It wasn't that great of a plane ride at all.

When we got to Heathrow it was snowing but we couldn't see it that well because it was melting from the heat of the engine in the plane.
