Blog: Day 2 in London

On our second day in London we woke up and got ready to go out. We went on a bus tour. On the bus tour, we went to St Paul’s Cathedral which has the Whispering Gallery in the dome. It is 163 steps high! I raced up them but Nana got puffed out and had to stop half way. We went through a tall narrow door. I looked over the balcony and I got so scared that I had to step back. The wall was curved so, when you whispered from one end, the whisper would go around the wall to the other side. Nana and I went to opposite sides of the dome and we whispered to each other. It was really faint, but we could hear each other and when we did we both smiled.

Blog: Landing in London

We were flying over London! I knew I’d be amazed because Nana had told me about all the exciting things there. We went through a cloud and it got really bumpy, it felt like we were on a bike and we were about to flip over and stack it... and the stacking feeling didn’t stop. I felt a thump and a bump and then the cloud cleared. We were down on the runway, we were on the ground. I was SO excited I was going to see my uncle Ben and Poppa and London!!!

Blog: A brief stop in Hong Kong

After our long flight Nana and I were finally in Hong Kong... and it was amazing. The airport there was massive, it was in the middle of the city and it was very fun.

Blog: Plane to Hong Kong

I had to go to bed early the night before Nana and I left for London because we had an early plane to catch. Marg and Des, my Nana’s sister and brother-in-law, were going to stay and look after my Nana’s house and Tootsie (aka “the womble”) while she was gone and they were also taking us to the Perth airport. Des used his sat-nav to get us to the airport because he didn’t know the way.

Blog: Still in Perth

As I said in my last entry, I still had more to do in Perth before I left:

Story: Trapped Under/In A Hammock

On Sunday morning I went outside to look at the flowers to check if there were any new ones on the bush. While I was outside I decided to sit in the new BIG hammock that we bought on Friday and put up yesterday. I got in there and at first it was fine because I was sitting in the hammock swinging and having fun. BUT…

Getting started

First of all, why am I travelling? Well it’s partly because of Dad’s work. But it’s also because we get to learn a new language, live in a new country and experience another culture. Everyone says that this is going to be one of the best experiences a kid could have.

Before I can get started about my travels, I really have to talk about what happened before I left. There were a lot of things to do before we could go. So really my journey begins in Perth and a couple of months before I left.

We had a lot of things to organise:

Welcome to my blog

Hi everybody

This is my very first blog entry. The reason I’m writing a blog is because Bridget and Dad said that, if I keep a blog, my family and friends can all share in my experiences while I’m travelling. It’s also good for me because later I can look back and it will help me to remember all the things I’ve done in my travels. And it will help me learn and practice typing, writing, and using the internet at the same time.
