Blog: Going to the pool

When I was in Nigeria I was staying in My Poppa's flat. The flat had a pool so me and Pop went down there I think three times.

We swam at the pool a lot. Sometimes we would have races and Pop won all the time, that's because I can't even swim properly yet.

When we went down there the first time I asked Pop how to dive into the water so he taught me how to. When he finished teaching me how I started diving off the diving board the whole time. I also would duck dive down to the bottom of the pool at the deep end, and the deep end is around three meters deep.

Sometimes we played catch with a little ball I got from Pop's work. We jumped really high out of the pool to get the ball because me or Pop were throwing it really high to each other.

I didn't only play with Pop, I met some kids who lived in Pop's apartment complex and made friends. One was called Tristan and one was called Dennis. We played catch too and we even jumped off the diving board together. There was a playground as well but only Dennis played on that because he was only four and it was a playground for little kids.

We always went to the pool in the afternoons. Going to the pool in Nigeria was really fun because I learned how to dive and made two cool new friends.

"Cool Pool"

So glad you learnt to dive. It is quite a thrill I find.
We will have to play some diving games next summer ;)
And you made more friends, you are such a lovely boy.
Thankyou for sharing your adventures & joys.

Swimming

Hi Kaleb, Gracie here.
My mum and dad have decided to go to Perth to live. We'll stay with Nana and Popa a while 'till we get a place of our own. Pops house has a swimming pool. It's not huge, huge but big enough to cool off in - you're welcome to share it with us - it wont be too far to come to.
After the holidays, we start swimming lessons at school-well, not AT school, we go in a bus to a Swimming Complex. We'll go every day for two weeks. Nana says she will help 'cause some children in my class can't dress themselves yet. I can swim a bit but I can't keep going 'cause I need to stop for air. I can dive a bit, from sitting on the edge of the pool.

Pool-ish

Hi Gracie,

I already knew that you and your mum and dad are going to go to Perth. That's really cool! I'm really looking forward to meeting you!

I hope you're feeling better soon. I was sorry to hear about the accident with your dad. I hope he is better soon too.

I'm looking forward to seeing you!
