Image: kangaroo-Kaleb and orangutan-Oscar

I was looking for some photos to use for Gmail and found a photo of me and my friend Oscar and I thought I could change it a bit so I went into GIMP and got started. I got the selecting tool first and selected my head and cut it out so there was white. Then I used the cut and paste tools to cover over the blank part and then used the smudge tool to smooth things out. I used the same tricks on the rails and wall behind were my head was too. In the end it looked like my head had disappeared. Then I got a photo of kangaroo and opened it with GIMP too. I cut out the head of the kangaroo and pasted it into a new layer in the other photo. I flipped the head so that it looked right instead of left, scaled it down and rotated it. Then I moved until it was in the right spot just above my neck and there I was with kangaroo's head!! I used the blur tool around the edges to make it look more like part of the original photo. When I finished, I did the same thing to Oscar but gave him an orangutan's head instead of kangaroo's, And this is it.

Hi Darling, I have often wondered how you did those photos.
That is very interesting. I decided, after talking to you this morning, that I would probably be able to get a bit more sleep, seeing as I had been up 3 times through the night! So I have just got up again....I love sundays!!
I must go and get a chicken and some buns soon though as Marg and Des will be here for lunch. And Toots needs some more chicken too.
The frogs are still there today....jumped into the pond when I fed the fish. I wonder how long they will stay this time?!
I hope they are still here when you get home so you can see them.
Love you xoxoxox

Monkey and Kangoroo

Hi guys

I am the Kangaroo and my friend is the monkey.
I have explained how to do those sort of photos in my blog. You need a special program called the GIMP which is like Photoshop. You can download it for free from here if you are using GNU/Linux or here if you are using a Mac or here if you are using Windows. Then you have to do what I described in my blog. It's a bit tricky in the beginning. Dad helped me a lot until I knew what to do.

Bye.

thanks

thanks for that kaleb
