Blog: Still in Perth

As I said in my last entry, I still had more to do in Perth before I left:

Adventure World

Dad and Bridget woke up one morning and said let’s get dressed and get these things into the Good Sammy bin. They were talking about a lot of my old clothes which we weren’t going to take with us. While we were driving Dad said that he remembered seeing a Good Sammy bin at Bibra Lake. I had my head down for bit and when I looked up we were driving into the Adventure World car park. Then Dad said he was sure there was one in. the Adventure World car park or near the gate. But he said we should go and check before we lugged the bags over unnecessarily. But I didn’t believe him I just knew we were going into Adventure World and that they had been tricking me. And I was right! Anyway, we had a great time that day. We went on the bumper boats they were really fun because when I bumped into people I bounced right back and sometimes the water would splash up and hit us. I was a bit scared to go on Bounty’s Revenge but I went on anyway and it was really cool. It was so much fun I even went on Power Surge afterward and that was fun too, but it was scary because it tips you upside down and flips you over. I even went on Turbo Mountain and it was fun but it hurt my chest and neck a bit when it stopped suddenly at the end. The paddle boats were great because you get to paddle over really big koi fish that swim around in the lake. And there was a bird that stood at the side waiting for little koi to show up so it could eat them… poor little koi. We also went on other things but my favourite of all was the water slides. The first one I went on was extremely fast and slippery and when I turned the corners I went right up on the sides of the slide. Then, at the end of the slide, there was a massive splash as I hit the water in the pool at the bottom. On the second slide, it was even faster. I had to lie down instead of sitting because otherwise I kept losing my mat. One time when I lost my mat, I got ahead of it and had to stop to wait for it and Dad ran into me. So went down even faster. A few times I lost my hat. I had a really good time and I hope I get to do it again.

Dad and Bridget left

Dad and Bridget had to leave before me and Nana. They had to go and learn some Spanish so they could find a house and some furniture, and find me a school to go to once I got there. They had lots to do before I arrived. We all went out for a farewell dinner at Clancy’s in Fremantle the night before they left. All of Dad and Bridget’s friends were there… but they’re all my friends too. While we were waiting for dinner I played football with Leah, Ria, Amanda, and Sophie. It was lots of fun. I also played soccer with Adam, Hannah, Oscar and Dad. After dinner, everyone played a game of soccer. We stayed out very late. I said goodbye to all of our friends because I wasn’t going to see them again before I left.

The next day we went out to the airport to say goodbye to Dad and Bridget. I was a bit sad to say goodbye to them but I knew we’d be seeing them again soon. I was waving goodbye as the plane was moving away from the departure gate and I actually saw Dad waving back!!! That’s never happened before even though I’ve waved goodbye to Poppa so many times.

Matthew and George

I wanted to go and see Matthew before I left. But I didn’t have his phone number. Luckily, Dad had his number on his computer and when we talked on Skype I got it from him. I called Matthew and I got to go and have a sleep over. The day I got there we walked up to the school and then we went to my friend and old next door neighbour, George’s, house. We went up to his house to see if he was there. And, he was. He invited us for a swim in his pool so we got our bathers and had a great time swimming with him. The next day we went to his Nana’s house and we had another swim. I stayed again that night and we took Matthew’s Nana and Poppa to the airport and got Chinese take-away on the way home. Nana picked me up later that day. I’m glad I got to see Matthew and George again before I left.

iPod incident

Dad and Bridget got me an iPod for Christmas so that I would have music to listen to while I was travelling. And I was very careful with it because I knew it was an expensive present and I didn’t want it to get broken but…

The night before we left Perth, I went walking with Tootsie. When I got back, I went to have a shower and accidentally left my iPod in my shorts pocket. And then Nana did the washing including my shorts! You can guess what happened next… My iPod went through the wash!

I was upset because I’d ruined my best present and it was the only present I got from Dad and Bridget. But I was also worried sick because I knew it was a very expensive present and I thought that Dad would be so angry with me and would hit the roof when he found out. Nana decided that it would be best to take it with us to see if it would work again once it dried out.

The next day we went to the Airport...
